Standard we aim for
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across sandboxdigitallabs.com. We consider the site substantially conformant with that standard as of the review date above. Conformance is a target we test against, not a guarantee that no barrier remains.
What we have done
- Every page can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator that meets the 3:1 contrast minimum.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Body text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and control boundaries and the focus indicator meet 3:1.
- Form fields have persistent visible labels. Errors are announced on the field itself, described in text, and signalled by more than colour, and focus moves to the first field needing attention.
- Page structure uses real headings, lists, and landmarks so it can be navigated non-visually.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- The site honours the operating system's reduced-motion setting and remains readable in forced-colours and high-contrast modes.
- Layout reflows to a 320 pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling, and text can be resized to 200% without loss of content.
- Automated accessibility checks run against every page in our test suite, and we review keyboard and screen-reader behaviour by hand when pages change.
How we tested
Every page is checked automatically against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA on each change, using axe-core in both a desktop and a mobile browser, and the build fails on any violation rather than only severe ones. Alongside that we test reflow to a 320 pixel viewport, text resizing to 200%, the WCAG text-spacing overrides, keyboard traversal of every focusable element, heading structure, landmark structure, accessible names for all controls, forced-colours rendering, and the reduced-motion preference.
We should be straightforward about the limits of that. Automated and scripted checks catch a large share of barriers but not all of them: judgements about whether wording is clear, whether a reading order makes sense, or whether a screen-reader announcement is genuinely useful still need people. This site has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist or tested with people who rely on assistive technology daily. If you use one and something here does not work, your report is more valuable than any tool we run.
Known limitations
- The contact form opens a message in your own email application rather than submitting to us directly. If your device has no email application configured, use contact@sandboxdigitallabs.com instead.
- Screenshots of the PromptCept app have descriptive alternative text, but they show interface detail that alternative text can only summarise.
- Pages on the Apple App Store and other third-party services we link to are outside our control and not covered by this statement.
